PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The Public Affairs Department is the primary channel of communication between the Armenian Assembly and the public. The Department develops and maintains the flow of information to and among the Assembly’s target audiences which include the Administration, Members of Congress, think tanks, and the Armenian-American community.  Our goals is to strengthen and promote understanding of Armenia and Armenian-American issues by offering the Assembly as a critical news source for journalists and others seeking reliable and informed information.

Public Affairs aggressively supports Assembly programs through proactive, coordinated and regular communication with the mainstream and Armenian-American press.  The Department issues timely news releases and media alerts on Assembly-driven issues and issues of concern to Armenian-Americans. Monitoring content of publications and maintaining a dialogue with editors on their publications’ content is an integral part of these efforts.

The Department’s other communications tools including its popular newsletter, The Advocate, and Inside the Assembly, a weekly compilation of Assembly news, events and activities. Public Affairs is also responsible for the Assembly’s annual report.
